Lyonnaise des Eaux

Lyonnaise des Eaux, a subsidiary of Suez Environment with 12,000 employees, supplies drinking water to 12 million residents and purifies wastewater for more than 9.4 million people in France.

Protecting water resources in terms of quantity and quality lies at the core of its concerns. In November 2011, to ensure the future of water at the community level, Lyonnaise des Eaux launched the Contract for Water Health, a modern form of partnership with local authorities on innovative projects for handling issues such as governance, innovation and economic models. The effective implementation of its commitments is assessed by Vigeo, an independent extra-financial rating agency.

In the Alsace, Lorraine and Franche-Comté regions, Lyonnaise des Eaux employs 550 people, who are committed year round, 24/7, to provide drinking water and wastewater purification services to nearly 5 million people.

In Strasbourg, Lyonnaise des Eaux and Degrémont have established Valorhin, the designated operator of the Urban Community of Strasbourg's wastewater treatment plant. Lyonnaise des Eaux and Degrémont share their expertise in a joint effort to optimise recycling of resources and generating power from wastewater.
